hi, im sophie, heres an insight to why I create.

my studies are primarily portraiture although I love exploring the contrast between realism and abstract, i enjoy seeing the juxtaposition and contrasts between the streetwear, masculine subculture blended with my love of femininity and florals, i pull and gain most of my inspiration in the fluidity of my pieces and brush strokes from the music i am listening to when i create. also, i pull most of my inspiration from personal childhood memories, as well as childhood characters, as this is something which has always resonated with me and i believe to be important to include in my original work. by provoking nostalgia in my audience it allows all my viewers not only to remember iconic figures from their childhood but also have a personal link to the artwork, and can create their own connections surrounding it because art is for sharing.
